Made to feel welcome

Over the past 18 months, my extended stay in one area has led to a unique transformation in my experience. Known affectionately in the local neighborhood as 'the guy with the camera,' I've found a heartwarming sense of belonging. This recognition is a testament to the welcoming nature of the community, as I'm constantly invited to share meals and stories, creating bonds that go beyond mere acquaintance. My travels across India over the last twenty years have introduced me to incredible people in every corner, but this stationary period has allowed me to delve deeper into the fabric of local life. It's a refreshing change from my usual travels; getting to know the people and the place on a more profound level has enriched my understanding and appreciation of the diverse tapestry of Indian culture.

Cyclone Michaung

Cyclone Michaung may have brought chaos and disruption to Chennai, but the city's resilience shines through as its people swiftly return to their daily lives. In the face of adversity, the spirit of Chennai remains unbroken, a testament to the strength of its community.

Never boring

Exploring Chennai is never boring. I stumbled upon a small scale repair yard tucked away from the bustling main streets. There was a team of about six dedicated workers who were not only skilled but also displayed a remarkable sense of tranquility amidst their work. This discovery has left me with a sense of anticipation, and I can't help but feel that this unique area holds the promise of many return visits, each offering the opportunity to document the beauty and authenticity that lies beneath the surface of Besant Nagar's beachfront.
